We meet in the church building as an assembly to unite with God-<\/p>\n<p>As a class, we went to the church as looked at the nativity, talked about the wise men coming from other countries.\u00a0 We had a few students share prayer in languages they speak at home&#8230; German, Vietnamese and French. The 3 wise men (3 kings) were some of the first people to worship Jesus. They were from different countries and didn&#8217;t speak the Hebrew language.\u00a0 God opened salvation to all peoples not just the Jewish people!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hickorytown.com\/ccd4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/magi.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-653 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hickorytown.com\/ccd4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/magi.jpg\" alt=\"magi\" width=\"670\" height=\"522\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gettysburghope.com\/ccd4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/magi.jpg 670w, https:\/\/www.gettysburghope.com\/ccd4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/magi-300x233.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.gettysburghope.com\/ccd4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/magi-385x300.jpg 385w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 670px) 100vw, 670px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hickorytown.com\/ccd4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/candles.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-654\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hickorytown.com\/ccd4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/candles.gif\" alt=\"candles\" width=\"50\" height=\"99\" \/><\/a>We had a prayer service for the Epiphany and lit a candle for our intentions (friends and family who may be sick, grieving or rejoicing) We stood in front of the altar near the Tabernacle, Baptism font, and the Ambry (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Blest Are We<\/em><\/span> p.120)<\/p>\n<p>Baptism in our Church:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hickorytown.com\/ccd4\/pictures\/baptism2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"361\" \/><br \/>\nWe visit the Baptismal Font in the Sanctuary<br \/>\nThe Pascal candle and the Sacramental Chrism oils are store in the Ambry\u2014<br \/>\n(the special glass cabinet on the wall).<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hickorytown.com\/ccd4\/pictures\/baptism1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"224\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hickorytown.com\/ccd4\/pictures\/baptism_dad90900.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"33\" height=\"150\" hspace=\"10\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hickorytown.com\/ccd4\/pictures\/whitegarment.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"115\" height=\"128\" \/><br \/>\nHoly Water (Symbol of the Holy Spirit)is kept on the left and poured over the catechumenate (person to be baptized) into the basin on the right. The center drain leads right to the ground so the holy water will not be dumped into the septic. The baptized person receives a Candle\u2013\u201cReceive the Light of Christ\u201d and puts on a White Garment\u2013\u201cPutting on Christ\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>January 13 we will be talking about Baptism of Christ<\/h3>\n<h4>Gospel <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usccb.org\/bible\/luke\/3:15\">Lk 3:15-16, 21-22<\/a><\/h4>\n<div class=\"poetry\">The people were filled with expectation,<br \/>\nand all were asking in their hearts<br \/>\nwhether John might be the Christ.<br \/>\nJohn answered them all, saying,<br \/>\n\u201cI am baptizing you with water,<br \/>\nbut one mightier than I is coming.<br \/>\nI am not worthy to loosen the thongs of his sandals.<br \/>\nHe will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.\u201dAfter all the people had been baptized<br \/>\nand Jesus also had been baptized and was praying,<br \/>\nheaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended upon him<br \/>\nin bodily form like a dove.<br \/>\nAnd a voice came from heaven,<br \/>\n\u201cYou are my beloved Son;<br \/>\nwith you I am well pleased.\u201d<\/div>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Blest Are We Chapter 6 pp. 78-85 &#8220;Baptism&#8221;<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bemydisciples.com\/grades\/2\/chapters\/10\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.bemydisciples.com\/grades\/2\/chapters\/10<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>January 6 Epiphany and our Church Sanctuary Blest Are We Chapter 18 p 203-211 &#8220;The Eucharist&#8221; In this chapter it talks about &#8220;Gathered as One in Christ&#8221; especially through the Mass.
